"Hired a boat from Mornington boat hire. Was really impressed with boat and service compared to other places I have been. Had a massive hit and lost it (probably snapper). Had loads of fun with the flatties though. Great day!"
"Landed 3 nice snapper and lost 3 good ones. One snapped my braid and other straightend out the hook. Other just dropped the bait. Great day in the hire boats"
"Hired a boat from Mornington Boat Hire (Thanks Paul) and fish started almost straight away! Great day, brilliant conditions. Fish not fussed with fresh squid to our surprise, but loved the silver whiting and pilchards. Caught enough for a good feed for all our families then fished with plastics for fun and let another 10 or so back for next time!"
"me and a few mates hire a boat every now and then to fish PPB. First time we tried B***** in M******. spent 580 dollars for a 5 hr fish in a 3 -4 person boat. the guy there...****** i guess knew nothin fishing related or was being a fool and not telling us where some good spots to fish were.
second time we thought screw it we'll drive a further so we went up to mornington boat hire. The guy who runs the shop paul pingaro has great knowlge is an awesome bloke and will help you out no matter what, just seemed so much more genuine and i know it seems like i have given mornington the best rap ever but you havent even heard the price. we payed 200 dollars for 8 hours with gps.
honestly if your coming from my direction drive the extra 25 mins because the fuel you spend wont cost and extra 350 dollars.
cheers"
"G,day guys Me and two mates headed up to mornington from the western suburbs. We Hired a boat from mornington boat hire( just off the beach). This is a great place to hire a boat, you can hire a steel hulled boat with a 30 hp motor i think around abouts, but it will cost you around 180 dollars for 8 hours on the bay.
We left the shore at about 930-10 am and headed straight out to a spot on our map that showed snapper grounds(even though snapper are out of season) we wanted to catch a few strays if we could.
Well so much for the snapper the next 8 hours consisted of us continually reeling in flat head. We were using a range of baits from squid to mussels to chicken and had a constant burley bucket flowing while we anchored.(burley was just breadcrums and tuna oil). Over the day i would say 3 of us ended up catching about 30 flathead and branh 9 away with us all at the 35 cm mark.
Were great fish to eat tasted beautiful only problem were the bones.
It was a pretty productive and fun day although flat head just dont put in the fight that you want and begin to get a little annoying.
Anyway i would recomend if you plan on hiring a boat then do it from mornington boat hire it is the cheapest by far and all the boats seem to be in great working order. The guy who owns the shop and helps you out for the day is awesome and very friendly. the shop also has a lot of tackle bait and refreshments on the inside.
Theres another report down
quiet days and tight lines to everyone
Chris"
To the boys who work at Mornington Boat and Kayak Hire. Thank you so much for your excellent service and "charm" over the past few weeks. I have purchased my own kayak, but will always recommend the service I received from you. "Marilyn H"
